District Master Plan Completed
On June 17, 2008 the County Board of Supervisors approved a new ten year Master Plan which will serve as a guide to maintain existing park facilities and improving undeveloped park sites. Over 1000 residents assisted in the development of the plan by attending one or more of the 27 meetings and/or completed surveys.
Based on your feedback from residents, the highest priority is the development and use of vacant neighborhood park sites. The District is holding various public workshops to discuss the future use of these sites. All workshops will be held at Carmichael Park, 5750 Grant Avenue. Below are the minutes from the July 26, 2008 meeting and the schedule of the upcoming public workshops:

ALTERNATE PLAN - O'DONNELL PARK SITE
As you know, on October 23 the Carmichael Recreation and Park District Advisory Board gave conceptual approval for the O’Donnell Heritage Park Site Master Plan with certain stipulations. One of the stipulations was that Staff try to reduce the amount of land proposed for sale. Staff has come up with an alternative Site Plan that does not propose any sale of land. At the December 18 Advisory Board meeting, Staff will be asking for conceptual approval of this alternate plan. If approved, both the previously approved Plan and the alternative Plan will be submitted to the county for the required environmental impact review.
